Dubai, renowned for its opulence, has once again raised the bar with the unveiling of the world’s most expensive shoes. Priced at a staggering $19.9 million, these diamond-encrusted footwear have secured their place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Dubbed “The Moon Star Shoe,” this exquisite pair of footwear, designed by Italian maestro Antonio Vietri, is adorned with 30 carats of dazzling diamonds. The shoes feature a unique element: a small piece of the Campo del Cielo iron meteorite, discovered in Argentina in 1576. As a tribute to Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, each shoe showcases a miniature replica of the towering landmark within its solid gold construction. Unveiled at the Made in Italy, Designed in Emirates (MIDE) Fashion Week, this multi-million-dollar masterpiece is one of Vietri’s most extraordinary creations.
Though Vietri’s “Moon Star Shoes” take the title as the world’s most expensive footwear, there have been other shoes with similarly high prices. Jada Dubai and Passion Jewelers’ Passion Diamond Shoes featured real gold uppers accented with hundreds of diamonds, clocking in at $17 million. In 2017, designer Debbie Wingham also released a cake-inspired pair of heeled sandals with 24 karat gold painted uppers and numerous precious gemstones, which totaled $15.45 million in total.
